Multi-day Hiking: Lycian Way
4 days Hiking starting in Fethiye, following the first section of this superb long-distance footpath. We stay in pensions and village houses and your luggage is transported for you between accommodations – you only need to carry a day pack while you are walking. Our experienced and knowledgeable guide will ensure that you get the most out of your trip.
Highlights include the abandoned ‘ghost village’ of Kayaköy, spectacular views of the famous Ölü Deniz lagoon and the looming cliffs of Baba mountain, and the ruins of ancient Sidyma. The Baba mountain region is remote, unspoiled and rich in flora and fauna. The best times of year for this route are spring (March to May), autumn (mid September to November) and early winter (December). Approximately 4-5 hours walking each day.

The south-west region of Turkey has a varied and beautiful landscape, ranging from pine-forested hills and mountains to dramatic seascapes, from to wide sandy beaches to peaceful rural villages; and wherever you walk you are likely to come across ruined reminders of previous civilizations who lived here, such as the Lycians, the Carians and the Romans. Hiking is a wonderful way to appreciate the natural beauty, wildlife and history of the area, and to interact with the local people.
For private groups we are able to arrange extended hiking trips on the Lycian Way for up to one-week,
- just let us know your preferences and we will suggest an itinerary

One day routes
We offer several different guided one-day routes depending on the season, your interests and level of fitness. We travel at the pace you wish and can detour to visit historic sites, interact with the locals or simply stop to appreciate the views!
We use experienced and knowledgeable guides who will explain the environment to you and carry a first aid kit on each walk. Hiking boots are generally not essential but stout trainers and a day pack plus plenty of water are necessary.

" Since many years we organise a hiking trip before Easter for what we in Germany call “Fastenwandern” This year we decided to go to Turkey for the Lycian Way and it was an excellent decision. The week with Vedat was the best experience our group ever had. Perfect organisation, stunning countryside, challenging custom-made hikes and many interesting stories. We will be back!! |

" We want to thank you both for such a wondeful trip, which allowed us to experience Turkey at a far more intimate level than we'd previously enjoyed. The customised tour you put together, for us, was perfect in every respect and exceeded our expectations in terms of archaeological sites you took us to and was expertly packaged within our Hiking and kayaking tour.." |
